'Hirta House'
Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
Isle of Scalpay - by Harris
Outer Hebrides (Western Isles)

'Hirta House' is a wonderful B&B, elevated high on the Island of Scalpay providing guests with superb sea views.

Owners Kenny & Margaret Morrison offer many years experience in hospitality with a warm welcome, and are more than happy to recommend things to see and do during your stay, as well as, providing any advice such as - where to see the best wildlife or where to sample the best local seafood.

The Island of Scalpay is a thriving fishing community, accessed by bridge from the neighbouring Island of Harris. Eilean Glas Lighthouse on Scalpay is one of the earliest lighthouses in Scotland, and the walk out to it is highly recommended - especially for the views across to The Shiants, Skye, Uist and the mainland.

“This was our first visit to the beautiful Island of Harris and we couldn't have chosen a better B&B. Kenny & Margaret made us feel very welcome and at home right from the start. The standard of accommodation was excellent as was the food. If you are looking for first class this is the place to go, you will experience genuine friendly Island hospitality – where nothing is too much for the splendid hosts.

“We stayed at Hirta House for 3 nights and had a great time. Great welcome, great accommodation, food and outstanding hospitality. Scalpay is a beautiful place and we were stunned by the location – The experience couldn't have been better!”

“On our trip through Scotland we spent 5 nights at Hirta House, we couldn't have asked for a better place! What a lovely location and tastefully decorated B&B. Our romantic room was on the ground floor opposite Margaret’s library which was open for guests to relax in. 'Make yourselves at home' was Margaret’s opening line, and she certainly made us feel so. Every morning Margaret & Kenny served us a delicious breakfast – a perfect start for a day of Island exploration. This B&B alone would be reason enough to spend a couple of days on Harris.”
